Must-Have Apps and Devices To Manage Multiple Properties From Anywhere

Many of you are getting back to work FULL THROTTLE and traveling to manage remote properties and staff. After being a digital nomad for 18 months in 13 countries – completely digital – I'm sharing my go-to tech devices and software for doing business from Ethiopia to Tulsa, OK, and parts in between:

Yep, that was all of my luggage for my 18 months of travel

Trello.com Project Management

(I also use Asana with some of my clients). Trello is easier to learn for low-tech staff. The phone app is amazing and translates into 21 different languages. I uploaded pictures of my driver’s license, passport, credit cards, travel visas, immunization/vaccination records, prescription refills, etc.

Google Suites and Google Drive

(I have also used DropBox, but Google Drive syncs more seamlessly with Photos, Gmail, Slides, Calendar, Maps, etc.)

Notes App (use voice dictation)

The easiest way to capture your thoughts on the go.

Calendly.com

I couldn't live without this to manage appointments with international clients and the time zone changes. Just make sure to adjust your Google Calendar time zones as well.

Apple Watch + iPhone Hotspot + MacBook Air

The trick here is NEVER to leave your chargers behind and not to drop your phone and need a screen replacement in another country. It's a nightmare. And get a new computer, so the likelihood that your computer dies while traveling is greatly reduced. If you reside in the US, you do not want to purchase tech devices in any other country.

Trail Wallet (Expense Tracking)

A great app for quickly adding all your expenses, setting and tracking daily budgets, and quick currency conversions.

Express VPN (Online protection while using public WiFi)

This is a must if you're using airport/plane mode or the coffee shop wifi.

Zoom or Google Meet

The screen sharing and recording capabilities are a must for me.

Whatsapp

Pretty good (but not fail-proof) for international texting and phone calls.

Airalo eSIM

Downloadable cell service in most countries without purchasing a chip. This is critical when you need cell service the minute you land in a new country at midnight when the phone service companies are closed.

Portable Phone Charger

You’ll need this when you shoot pictures all day and are away from an electrical outlet.

Charles Schwab Debit Card

I don't know how many thousands of dollars in ATM fees I saved using this card.

Here's the blog if you want to know more about my travels. Tell me: What are your “must-have” tech devices and apps that keep you rolling on the road?
